18 December 2008 Brett Scores a Touch Down
Four operators at FinalCut, part of MP Thompson, underwent their training on the Quick Tip System. This is already saving time and money with the application of Readytip inserts to FinalCut Terminator Mills. Cutting & Wear are working together with FinalCut to develop their own, special Ready Tip blades to optimize the speed of production and more importantly the Milling performance of the Terminator down hole.
Whilst Brett was in the USA he also visited Tools Inc which is the latest addition to the Quick Tip family of licensees. The company based in Broussard, Louisiana has been trading for 5 years and is rapidly increasing its manufacturing ability with Quick Tip hard facing being at the forefront of this development. Brett then moved on to Oklahoma to see the people at Thru Tubing who are big users of Starcutt & Sharkstooth composite rod. These are the premium products in the Cutting & Wear range and Thru Tubing have received great feedback from customers on the cutting performance that tools hard faced with these products are achieving down hole. Thru Tubing are now looking at new methods of gauge protection and are working closely with Cutting & Wear to achieve the next level of performance for their tools.

Brett Russell recently visited the USA to train operators at Final Cut, a new Quick Tip licensee, in how to use the Quick Tip process on their range of mills. Whilst he was there he had the opportunity, with Mike Thompson of FinalCut, to see the Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals play American football.
